Public Union “Defence Builder” (hereinafter – "Defence Builder") hereby specifies what data is processed by Defence Builder, the purposes, and the grounds for processing.

Defence Builder is an owner of personal data in terms of the Ukrainian law, i.e. Defence Builder is a person who determines the data to be processed and purposes for processing.

After submission of an application form as a potential investor or as a potential participant of the Acceleration Program on the websites operated by Defence Builder alone or with other persons (in particular https://defencebuilder.com/), and / or after filling in the contact form/feedback form on the mentioned websites, and/or by taking part in the Acceleration Program, which is carried out by Defence Builder and its partners, Defence Builder will start processing of your data.

Where does Defence Builder get data from?

Defence Builder receives information about you directly from you (in particular, through the forms filled in by you) and indirectly from you (for example, through cookies).

What data does Defence Builder process about me?

Defence Builder may process the following data about you:

  • name and surname;
  • your social media accounts (e.g. LinkedIn);
  • e-mail;
  • contact phone number;
  • information on your teammates;
  • information about your behavior on the website, which was obtained through cookies and other similar technologies;
  • other information provided by you (including info on your product, feedback on your product, your company and team, investments received by your company, etc.).

For what purposes and on what legal grounds does Defence Builder process the data about me?

To send out information and promotional materials outside the Acceleration Program. Your consent.
To improve its services and programs and create new ones (for example, by analyzing the Acceleration Program reviews, general interest in it, etc.). Legitimate interest of Defence Builder.
To promote the Acceleration Program and other activities carried out by Defence Builder and its partners. Legitimate interest of Defence Builder, legitimate interest of its partners, in some cases – your consent. For example, some info like your and your company’s names, name of your product, your product readiness level, amount of the investments raised by your product will be published on the Acceleration Program website. To publish any additional information, we will ask your consent.
To perform the duties assigned to Defence Builder in accordance with the law. Compliance with a legal obligation. For example, in some cases, Defence Builder or its partner needs to keep some of your data in order to comply with tax and accounting legislation.

How long will Defence Builder process my data?

Defence Builder takes all reasonable steps to ensure that your personal data is processed and stored securely. Your personal data will never be stored longer than permitted by applicable law or longer than necessary to fulfil the above stated purposes.

Who may Defence Builder share my data with?

We do not sell the personal data to anyone, but we may transfer personal data to other recipients as described below. We always observe great caution when transferring your personal data, and your personal data is only transferred in accordance with this privacy notice and after taking appropriate security measures.

Defence Builder may share your data with:

  • investors who are interested in your product within the Acceleration Program;
  • partners who are interested in collaboration with you within the Acceleration Program or who support you throughout the Acceleration Program;
  • employees, vendors, experts and mentors engaged in the Acceleration Program;
  • our subsidiaries and affiliated companies;
  • third parties, if we have a legal obligation to do so;
  • state and court authorities, when there are relevant legal obligations and relevant requirements.

By default, we share with investors and partners information on your company name, name of your product, your product readiness level, amount of the investments raised by your product. To share any information with our partners and investors on top of the above-mentioned, we will ask your consent.

Please note that Defence Builder can disclose your personal data only where Defence Builder determines that doing so is permitted under the applicable data protection law.

Defence Builder is located in Ukraine. Under certain circumstances, personal data may be transferred to other countries outside of Ukraine. When such transfers are carried out, Defence Builder takes all appropriate measures to ensure that your personal data are adequately protected and that all processing is in accordance with applicable data protection laws and this privacy notice.

What else do I need to know?

The law requires Defence Builder to inform you of your fundamental rights, including your right to withdraw consent, object to your data processing, to file a complaint, to have access to your data, to protect your data, and the right to demand the destruction of your personal data, etc. To get more, please check Article 8 of the Law of Ukraine "On Personal Data Protection".
