Defence Builder Fund I has invested in DOD Solution, an Estonian-Ukrainian company that produces onboard artificial intelligence modules for unmanned platforms. The company has closed a $2.1 million pre-seed round that brought together investors from Ukraine, Europe, the US and Canada. Canadian drone technology company Draganfly joined the round as a strategic investor.
Alongside Defence Builder Fund I, the round included Angel One Fund, Better Angle, Network VC, Newfund, UAID Fund, WildField Ventures and 4C-Next Holding AG, as well as angel investors.
The company's flagship product is the AURA AI platform, which combines the AURA SBC onboard computer with AURA OS, the company's autonomy software stack. The platform enables autonomous navigation, perception, target recognition and tracking, and terminal guidance for FPV drones, fixed-wing UAVs and interceptors, including in environments where GPS is jammed and the link to the operator is lost.
The funding will support bringing the next generation of the AURA SBC onboard computer into production, advancing AURA OS and onboard AI capabilities, and accelerating integrations with unmanned platform manufacturers in Ukraine and international markets. The next generation of AURA SBC is being developed for production at scale, supported by a robust component supply chain and with the goal of meeting NDAA compliance requirements. This will support DOD Solution's expansion into European and North American markets.
According to the report "The Ukrainian Defense Technology Market: Opportunities for Investors" (Defence Builder, KSE Institute, Brave1), Ukraine's unmanned aerial systems market reached $6.3 billion in 2025, accounting for more than 90% of the country's defence technology market. The segment grew by 137% compared to the previous year. At least 150 companies operate in it, and interceptors were identified as a separate category in 2025.
The report identifies navigation, autonomy, modularity and localisation of critical components as the segment's key development areas. DOD Solution's product line is developing across all four.
DOD Solution has built a network of technology and industry partnerships spanning onboard computing, AI acceleration and integrated counter-drone capabilities. Its partners include US-based Lantronix, which supplies the Open-Q 6490CS computing platform built on a Qualcomm chipset (July 2026); Dutch company Axelera AI, whose Metis M.2 AI accelerator is being integrated into AURA AI for interceptors (August 2026); and Estonian company DefSecIntel Solutions, with which DOD Solution signed a memorandum on the joint development of AI systems for drone detection and counter-drone operations (September 2026).

Кошти раунду підуть на запуск у виробництво наступного покоління бортового обчислювача AURA SBC, розвиток AURA OS і бортових ШІ-можливостей, а також на пришвидшення інтеграцій з виробниками безпілотних платформ в Україні та на міжнародних ринках. Наступне покоління AURA SBC розробляють для серійного виробництва зі стійким ланцюгом постачання компонентів і з метою відповідності вимогам NDAA. Це має підтримати вихід DOD Solution на ринки Європи та Північної Америки.
